OUR NURSES

Currently, the Bilton Veterinary Centre has a team of ten nursing staff, with a range of experience and different interests.

They are involved in a wide range of duties, assisting the veterinary surgeons and ensuring that your pets are looked after to the highest possible standards.  From anaesthetic monitoring to staffing the recovery ward, the skilled team ensure the smooth running of the veterinary practice.

As a centre, we run nurse clinics which are available throughout the day.  These sessions can be used for weight checks, nail trimming, microchipping, dietary advice and other such events, that you would not need to see a vet for.  They are also on hand to give any phone advice that you may require about any aspect of your pets health.

Hello, I’m Nikki and I have worked here at Bilton Vets for 26 years now, and have been the Head Nurse for 20 of these.

My main veterinary interests are surgical nursing, and care of the trauma patient.

As well as the clinical side of things, I am also responsible for a lot of the more mundane (but no less important) jobs such as stock and drug management, staff rotas and keeping the vets happy by making sure the equipment is in good working order!

I have two Springer Spaniel dogs called Crook and Lucas that keep me very busy.

I joined the practice in 1996 as a trainee nurse and qualified in 2001.

I have particular interests in Veterinary Dentistry, particularly preventative management. I also enjoy our Feline patients, and have recently become the Practice Cat Advocate as part of our ISFM Feline Friendly Accreditation. This means I am constantly trying to find ways to improve our ability to deal with the feline patients.

At home my pets are one dog, one cat, one rabbit, two Guinea-Pigs, one husband and two children. All of which take up a substantial amount of my time!

I joined the practice in 1980, and am one the members of staff who has been here the longest! I am called the “Boss-Nanny” by the rest of the team here…

I enjoy looking after all animals but my professional interests are very much with the care of ”small-furries” such as Rabbits & Guinea Pigs.

At home I have a Crossbreed dog called Poppy, as well as 3 Rabbits and 6 Guinea Pigs. I have two grandchildren that keep me busy and I love to go on long walks with the dog!

I qualified from Morton Morrell College in 1999 and I joined Bilton Vets in 2004. I was originally only supposed to be here for 3 weeks as a locum, but somehow haven’t left yet!!

My professional interests are anaesthesia, critical care nursing and emergency medicine.

A lot of my time outside of work is spent with my horse, Bazil, who I bought as a four year old in 1996. I also have a female tabby cat called “Spud” whom I adopted after she was abandoned with her litter mates at Bilton Vets. I live with my partner Ted and enjoy walking, writing and we both have an armchair interest in the paranormal.

I qualified in 2014 as a Registered Veterinary Nurse and adopted a lovely gerbil boy called Bill.

I am passionate about all things animal, but I am particularly interested in physiotherapy and post-operative recovery in pets.

Outside of work, I really enjoy going to music festivals and gigs.

I came to Veterinary Nursing slighter later than most, having been an accountant previously! However I soon realised that my passion lay with helping animals and so I chose to retrain and I qualified in 2005.

I enjoy all aspects of nursing but especially enjoy looking after our In Patients.

I have a horse, a dog, two cats, rabbits and chickens at home (and would have more if was allowed....!)

Outside of work my time is busy looking after my three children but I really enjoy getting on the horse as often as I can.

I came to Bilton as a trainee nurse and then qualified in 2009 as a full RVN.

I find dealing with Trauma Patients very rewarding as it is amazing what a difference we can make in those first few hours/days. I also enjoy Surgical Nursing as well.

I am also involved with the practice Facebook as well as some of the more mundane aspects of nursing - such as paperwork.

I have a bonkers Labrador at home called Obi as well as a cat (called Pug!)
